“Getting ready”
To get ready.
I’ve not worked out since Thursday. I did do 200 kettlebell clean and presses that day, a personal best.
Since then I’ve been working on getting ‘The Big Blue Beast’ road ready. I detailed costs in another post. Friday I wrestled 4 Sumitomo 215 75/R17.5 tires around (85 lbs each) got them mounted on the rig and ‘torqued’ their nuts to 100lbs.
Yeah, I know, that just sounds dirty and wrong.
On one hub, I had to replace the Disc Brake ‘shoes’. The inside disc’s clips broke off. Which are required to keep it in place. This requires removing the Caliper, and reinstalling it.
While doing so, the bolts that attach the caliper to the axle were tight (I should have lubed them), the socket wrench slipped, hitting my right eye brow, just to the right of center.
I realized just how hard I hit myself when blood dripped off my glasses. 1/4” split in the skin. My projects always come out better when i put a little blood in.
Saturday I put new watch batteries in all 12 of my TPMS monitors, which required my crawling under the rig and truck.
The truck’s rear tires have the valve stems between the duallys.
Today I reconfigured the garage in the rear and moved some of the E-Trak so my scoots front tire will be more secure. The tie down brackets I was using had stress fractures. The piece of track I moved wasn’t used anyway. It required me to crawl beneath the rig of course.
Therefore my formerly expansive derrière has been too worn out to ‘work out’.
Most of the hard work is complete, it’s just rearranging and stowing now.
We’ve moved our targeted departure to the 20th of April, looking at a 28th of April arrival in Superior MT.
