“What a long, strange trip, it’s been.”
— the Grateful Dead
Well, we were to attend four weddings this year.
The Prodigal is having two ceremonies; his bride wishes her elderly grandparents to attend, so there is an additional ceremony near their house in St. Mary’s, Georgia.
By the way, I just found out last week that I am ‘The Best Man’.
I’m glad he told me before the ceremony.
Tiny Dancer and Needles are getting married in six weeks,
and my great-niece was going to have her wedding in September.
She wanted to be pregnant before the ceremony in order to jump-start their family. She’s 27, a teacher; she and her fiancé have been together for three to four years.
She was successful, except the baby is due two weeks before the ceremony; therefore, the wedding has been postponed.
We were going to ride the Scoot from Montana to the September wedding in Nashville, then ride to Georgia, drop off the Scoot , and fly back to Montana to get the rig.
Now, we’ve decided tentatively to ride US Rt. 2 across the top of the country, then into Canada on CA Rt. 11 to Maine. Then south to Georgia.
We avoid Interstates when possible, so it will be all secondary highways and routes.
We plan on riding the entire length of the Pacific Coast Highway (PCH) in ‘26, which is US Rt. 101 for most of its route. It starts in Olympia, Washington, although it’s also shown as starting in Seattle.
We are going to use this trip as a dress rehearsal for the PCH ride.
If any of you folks will be on our route, we would be more than happy to stop for a visit.
My lovely bride likes new folks; I, on the other hand, as you all can tell, am anti-social.😉🤣😂🤣😂

On March 13/14, observers in North and South America and elsewhere will see a total eclipse of the Moon. DI CHAP
One of the big observational events of the year takes place this week. On March 13/14, a lunar eclipse occurs and will be widely visible for observers in North and South America, and visible near dawn in parts of western Europe and surrounding areas. First contact of the penumbral phase begins at 11:56 PM EDT on the 13th, and the Moon will take on a darker glow as the shadow covers more surface area. You may note a deep orange color on the Moon’s face as the eclipse progresses. The Moon enters the umbral shadow at 1:09 AM EDT on the 14th. The eclipse’s last half will be stunning as stars increasingly come into view. Totality begins just after 2:25 AM EDT and greatest eclipse takes place at 2:59 AM EDT. After 66 minutes of totality, the eclipse will begin to wane, and the penumbral phase ends at 6:02 AM EDT.
“Come and take it.”
The ‘Patriot Act’ rears its ugly head again.
“Thank you for choosing U.S. Bank. In reviewing our records, your address appears to be related to Private Mailbox / Mail Service address. It is important we have complete account information including a customer’s physical / residential address in accordance with regulatory requirements. We are reaching out to obtain your physical residential address.”
We have a ‘Mortgage’ on the ‘Big Blue Beast’. Until we secured a loan for our Montana land, it’s was our only debt. ‘The Dude’, which we bought ‘new’, was paid for shortly after we took delivery.
Our ‘Lender’, USBank has decided that our current address is no longer acceptable. We need to contact them immediately and provide a physical residential address.
Or what?
They are going to re-possess the ‘Big Blue Beast’?
I don’t think so.
It has wheels…
“Only the educated are free.”
— Epictetus
I’ve dropped this Epictetus quote several times. Folks like to attack or argue about this one with me.
Epictetus isn’t referring to a formal education, he is referring to ‘self education’.
Without knowledge, how can you take a sound decision? ( you take a decision, you make a cake, the choice exists, you do not create it).
If you have knowledge you can’t be fooled or taken advantage of.
Basically he’s telling you not to live with your head in the sand.
“Learn sum-thin’ new,
ever day!”
Yes, the grammar and spelling are incorrect in that statement. That is how I say it. Like an old southern Gentleman (which I am 😉).
